Buckaroo

Buckaroo

Oil on Canvas

A child plays make-belief. Brave little buckaroo formally challenges forces beyond his control. A Toreador: Ole'! Lasso in hand, the little-boy chases Archetypal snake under the protective watch of bull-shaped tree: guardian angel above; boyhood dreams calling below.

Buckeroo is derived from the Spanish word Vaquero, meaning Cowboy. He wishes he were a Toreador (bullfighter), but will settle for roping a snake.
